How to Add Artists

Follow these easy steps to add an artist page for any solo act or musical group in the world.
If you have a BandPage, we can create a new Artist page for you! Click here to get started.

Log in and click on the Add Your Artist link on the upper right. Once you have created your Artist page, don't forget to tag it to your show.

Quick Start

Quick Start: Simply complete the 5 required steps. If you need more detailed instruction scroll down.

1) Artist Name: What is the band or soloist called?
2) Main Image: Got a 250x250 graphic? If not, try Google Images.
3) Style: Add at least one genre of music.
4) City, State/Province, Country: Where does your band play most?
5) Save: That's all we need - as soon as you click save it's live but you can always add more.

Detailed Instruction

Artist Name: Add only the artist name. Leave out any genre or location information.

Main Image: (3 options)
Upload option - Browse for an image that is saved on your computer and click Upload. It must be a .jpg, .png, .gif or .jpg and be less than 3 MB. Avoid special characters in your file name !@#$%^&*()+? and make sure your image is 250 pixels by 250 pixels or larger. You will see a thumbnail version of it after it loads.
Remote URL option - Add the direct URL of an image that is hosted elsewhere on the web. It must end in .jpg, .png, .gif or .jpg. Click Transfer and you will see a thumbnail version of it after it loads.
Reference existing option - Start typing the file name of an image that you have used before in a artist post. The database will auto-complete the name (with its Node ID Number) and you can choose it. Click select and you will see a thumbnail version of it after it loads.

Style(Max.5): Add up to 5 genres of music. To multiple select use Ctrl-click for Windows or Command-click for Mac.

City: Add the name main city that the band plays in.

State/Province: Slowly start typing the full name of the state and choose it. Hint - Start typing "New" rather then NY for New York and the system will offer options. Note that is your state or province is not in the US, you will need to change the Country field first so that the state or province can be referenced by the database

Country: If the venue is in the US you can leave this field as it is. If not, please change to the proper country so that the state or province can be referenced by the database.

Save: At this point, you have completed all the required elements and should scroll to the bottom and click on the Save button before adding anything else. Once you save your venue it is live immediately. You will see Edit above your post and you can add more information or make changes.

Bio and Band Members - Expand this section to fill in these fields.

Description: Add a short bio here. You can copy and paste from another source.

Band Members: Add a single band member to each field. You can also add the instrument they play but the field is limited to 150 characters or spaces. To add additional spaces, click on Add Additional Items. You may change the display order by clicking on the <+> on the left side and moving up and down or changing the number value on the right.

Website, Facebook, Twitter and Other Links - Expand this section to fill in these fields.

Facebook: Add a link to a Facebook page. The title of the link will appear as on the finished venue listing.

Twitter: Add a link to a Twitter feed. The title of the link will appear as on the finished venue listing.

YouTube Channel: Add a link to a YouTube Channel. The title of the link will appear as on the finished venue listing.

Myspace: Add a link to a a MySpace page. The title of the link will appear as on the finished venue listing.

Website: Add a link to a website. The title of the link will appear as "Website" on the finished show listing.

Other Links: Add up to 3 links to any websites. The Title (on the left) is the text that will appear in your show listing. The URL (on the right) is where the user will be re-directed to an external site. To display more than two links, click Add Another Item. You may change the display order by clicking on the <+> on the left side and moving up and down or changing the number value on the right.

Contact Phone and Email - Expand this section to add these fields.

Phone: This is the contact phone for band booking or other inquiries. It will be visible to everyone.

Email: This is the contact email for band booking or other inquiries. It will be visible to everyone.

Video, Audio and More Images - Expand this section to add these fields.

Video Code: Add the URL or embed code from sites such as YouTube or Vimeo. A video player will be embedded on your show listing. Hint - Use the basic YouTube URL even though there are a few links that go to the same video.

Audio File: Choose File file that is saved on your computer and click Upload. The file must an MP3 format and be smaller that 20MB. Once your file is uploaded, you may type a title in the box. This will display on your finished artist page. Note - You must own the distribution rights to the track and this file may be downloaded freely by another user.

SoundCloud: Enter the SoundCloud URL or SoundCloud embed code here. The audio player will display on your finished post.

Gallery Images: (3 options) If more than 2 images are added, images will be displayed one at a time in a slideshow fashion.

Save: Scroll to the bottom and click Save. You will see the completed version of your venue and can make changes immediately by using the edit button at the top. Find any of your previously created shows, venues, artists or news posts in your My Stuff area.
